Nokia Federal is a dedicated Nokia U.S. entity focused on delivering mission-critical solutions to the U.S. Government. Join us today and contribute to helping support the mission!

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF transceiver circuits for advanced wireless communication products.
  • Develop RF front-end architectures incorporating power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, mixers, frequency converters, synthesizers, PLLs, and antenna interfaces.
  • Define RF link budgets and establish system-level performance requirements.
  • Lead component selection, technology evaluations, and design tradeoff studies.
  • Develop RF solutions that balance performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Use RF design and simulation tools to evaluate and optimize circuit and system performance.
  • Perform RF analysis, including harmonic balance, S-parameter, electromagnetic, interference, and coexistence analysis.
  • Evaluate thermal considerations and their impact on RF performance and system reliability.
  • Analyze simulation results and translate findings into practical design improvements.
  • Develop RF schematics and provide guidance to PCB layout engineers.
  • Review RF PCB layouts for signal integrity, controlled impedance, and overall design performance.
  • Support prototype development, board bring-up, troubleshooting, and design validation.
  • Develop and execute RF test strategies and validation plans.
  • Work collaboratively with hardware, software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to support successful product development.
  • Serve as a recognized technical authority and subject matter expert in RF engineering.
  • Influence RF technology strategy, architecture decisions, and product roadmaps.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level RF engineers.
  • Review designs and provide recommendations to improve performance, reliability, and overall product quality.
  • Stay current with emerging RF technologies and industry developments and identify opportunities to incorporate new capabilities into future products.

  • Strong experience with RF transceivers and front-end design.
  • Experience with RF simulation, analysis, and design tools.
  • Strong understanding of RF circuit design, signal integrity, and wireless communication systems.
  • Demonstrated experience taking RF designs from concept through prototype and validation.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and effectively collaborate across engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to mentor and develop other engineers.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or other mission-critical communications systems.
  • Experience with advanced wireless technologies, including LTE, 5G, or other modern wireless communication architectures.
  • Experience with Keysight ADS, AWR Microwave Office, HFSS, and/or CST Microwave Studio.
  • Experience with RF PCB layout, antenna interfaces, and controlled-impedance design.
  • Experience with RF testing, laboratory equipment, and prototype debugging.
  • Experience influencing technical strategy and long-term product development roadmaps.
