Transportation Engineer

Responsibilities of the Transportation Engineer include:
* Oversite of teams conducting work on transportation projects, including roadway design, traffic operations, roadway design, transportation planning, and environmental assessments.
* Managing the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications for various projects
* Reviewing preliminary and final plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates, making necessary recommendations for modifications
* Participating in contract bidding and administration as needed
* Supervising and observing project design and progress, coordinating with City, State, and County officials and other agencies
* Supervising junior engineers and technical support personnel
* Coordinating projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff
* Communicating and interacting with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate
* Resolving complex problems, such as conflicting design requirements and difficult coordination requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
* 2+ years of experience in the transportation industry
* E.I.T. or P.E. certification is required
* Demonstrated working knowledge of software systems: HCS, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, CORSIM, VISSIM, CUBE, TransCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Office
* Experience with DOT projects
